For the buttermilk rolls, put the flour and wheat meal in a mixing bowl and mix well with the yeast. Make a well in the center, add salt, caraway seeds and buttermilk and knead with a hand mixer at the highest speed for about 4 minutes. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes.

Knead well again and form 15 small rolls with wet hands. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Brush with lukewarm water and sprinkle with caraway seeds. Then bake the buttermilk rolls in the preheated oven at 200°C for about 50 – 60 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

The buttermilk rolls are suitable for freezing and can be baked again in the oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes. They are then like fresh again.
