Rinse and remove the seeds. Cut rolls into cubes and soak in wine. Beat egg yolks and sugar until very creamy. Fold in juice of one lemon and grated lemon peel, cinnamon and cardamom. Add the soaked bread and the almond kernels. As the last step, fold in the stiff snow. Pour the fruit and bread mixture alternately into a greased baking dish. Put the dish on the rack in the gas oven and bake. Serve while still warm with powdered sugar.
