Instructions:

A simple but delicious cake recipe:

(*) 1 recipe makes 2 to 3 patties.

Melt yeast in lukewarm water (1), pour flour into a large bowl, loosen with your hands. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, sprinkle salt around the edges. From the center, stir the yeast with the flour, add warm water (2), stir first, then knead together.

Oil your hands a tiny bit so that the dough does not stick to your fingers. It should be soft and pliable.

Cover dough and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, until doubled in size.

Form round, flat patties, making sure the edges are a little thicker than the center, and place on a greased baking sheet. With a damp index finger, make regular indentations to form a diamond pattern.

Mix sugar, egg yolks, olive oil and water (3). Brush patties with it, sprinkle with sesame seeds and black cumin.

Let rise for another 15 minutes, then bake in a heated oven at 225 °C for 20-30 minutes until the bread turns golden.

Comments

According to another source (Erika Casparek-Türkkan: Making Turkish), milk is taken instead of water and an egg is kneaded in (when preparing with 500 g of flour). An egg-oil-milk-sugar mixture is used for brushing. Meanwhile, the patties are baked at 275 °C for 10 min.
